A Beginner’s Course in Structural BodyWork
Come enjoy this beginner course that will teach the raw basics of Structural Integration and how to apply them in your current practice. (This workshop is an approved CEC for massage therapists worth 16 hours).
1) Visual assessment based on the idea that the main medium of our physical lives is gravity. Learn this objective tool that will help you know if what you are doing with a client is actually helping.
2) The basics of fascia and fascial continuities in the body. Muscles are great but myofascia is greater still.
3) Direct and indirect techniques to change fascia that you can learn easily in a weekend and take with you for the rest of your life.
4) Learn how to meld this information into your existing practice and/or make the switch to structural bodywork.
What is Structural Integration?
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration is a holistic system of soft tissue manipulation and movement education that organizes the whole body in gravity developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf . Usually, given as a ten session series this powerful modality was the first to recoginize the effects of gravity on the human structure and the importance of fascia-the organ of support.
What are the benefits of Ida Rolf’s Structural Integration?
When the body is organized and in line with gravity the force of gravity can travel through the body and the body spontaneously heals itself! In short, you feel better, easier, look better because you stand up straight easily and you’re more flexible.
